Frank Gilmour Libertarian Candidate for United States Senate Press Release For Immediate Release: October 8, 2006 Libertarian Senate candidate critiques Talent, McCaskill Frank Gilmour says he should be included in debates too Manchester, MO - Like many other Missouri voters, Frank Gilmour watched on TV in his living room as Senator Jim Talent and Missouri State Auditor Clair McCaskill made a joint appearance on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday. "I should have been on there too," says Gilmour, the Libertarian candidate whose name will also appear on the November ballot. "After the show, I sent an email to Tim Russert to complain again that I wasn't invited." Gilmour critiqued Talent and McCaskill as being predictable. "They both tended to run off-subject, bickering with each other and repeating their prepared sound-bites." Referring to upcoming appearances around the state, he asked "Do the voters of Missouri really need three more so-called 'debates' to hear more of the same?" "In fact, these are not debates. A debate should include all of the candidates. These joint appearances by Talent and McCaskill are nothing more than political advertisements." Gilmour cites a recent Reuters/Zogby poll that shows his support among likely voters is running at 6%. "With as little media attention as I've been getting, it's pretty remarkable to see my poll numbers rising like that. It tells me that the people of Missouri really do want to have another choice." He continues to appeal to the organizers of upcoming events to include him in their plans. "I'm ready, willing and able to travel around the state and participate in legitimate debates that include all the candidates. I've asked to be invited and I will keep on asking." Talent and McCaskill are scheduled to appear in Clayton on October 11, in Springfield on October 16, and in Kansas City on October 18. "I plan to be there," declares Gilmour. "The voters may or may not agree with my positions on the issues, but I think they'd agree that I have a right to be heard."
